World champion light heavyweight champion under versions IBF/WBO/WBA Andre ward commented on the upcoming fight against Sergey Kovalev.
“Guys, listen, I, too, have much to say about Kovalev, but I won’t fall for his words, I have the experience, and it’s not my first Rodeo. Let’s make this easy, you got what you wanted. June 17, you’ll see me in the ring, and as I said before, leave the excuses at home. I fought with this guy for 12 rounds, and there’s nothing to worry about. I stood in the ninth and tenth round of our first fight. He knocked me down in the second, but if you notice, I did not just survive in the ring” – quoted by Andre ward boxingscene.com
Sergey Kovalev, in turn, said that Andre ward will not be able to knock him out.
Earlier iSport.ua reported that the fight is a rematch between world champion WBO/WBA/IBF light heavyweight title to American Andre ward (31-0, 15 KOs) and former world champion Russian Sergey Kovalev (30-1-1, 26 KO’s) will be held June 17 in Las Vegas (USA).
